Moby Dick (1998) (TV) - Starring as Captain Ahab |
This is Herman Melville's classic 1851 sea tale about the vengeful sea Captain Ahab who seeks to kill the great white whale that took his leg and is willing to forego the safety and endurance of his crew to do it. The tale is told from the vantage of the only surviving member, Ishmael (Henry Thomas), a young man who joins the crew of the Pequod for his first seafaring with the aid of his harpoonist friend, Queequeeg (Piripi Waretin). -Captain Ahab makes his entrance late in this film. His stringy hair under his three-cornered hat, his peg leg tapping out his arrival on deck. This Captain is a hard, driven man and there's no question he has the resolve and mad devotion to complete his quest even at the cost of his own life.

In X-Men, the first movie, our heroes have to stop Magneto, a powerful mutant that can control metals, from turning regular humans into mutants that are gathering at the Statue of Liberty. Magneto kidnaps one of the X-Men (Rogue), to use her powers to protect him from the adverse effects of the machine that will turn humans into mutants. - Professor Charles Xavier is the headmaster at a school for mutants, is also a powerful mutant with the ability to read minds and affect them easily. He has to use a wheelchair, but more than adequately makes up for it with his powerful mind. The team fights enemies like Magneto and Deathstrike among many others including the government itself. |

In this sequel, the X-Men have to team-up with Magneto to fight a mutant hater and military leader rumored to have experimented on mutants, named William Stryker. Wolverine learns about his past, and Jean Grey apparently dies saving the X-Men from a dam that burst.. - Professor Charles Xavier is captured by a bad rogue agent named stryker who tries to use him and Cerebro (mind expansion machine) to kill all the mutants everywhere. |

The former Cheers bar patron Dr. Frasier Crane played by Kelsey Grammer, moved to Seattle in order to host an advice talk show. He finds himself playing host to his ex-cop father and his eccentric personal home-care provider, Daphne (Jane Leeves). His neurotic brother, Niles makes many appearances. Frasier won a total of 30 Emmy awards. In this episode Frasier and Niles suspect that Roz's new boyfriend, Barry, is gay, and they think he went into a gay bar. Because Frasier is seen in there, he gets a reputation for being gay himself. This leads to Alistair Burke and Frasier sort of dating, as Frasier likes his lifestyle, so he tags along. -Alistair Burke is the head of the Seattle Opera Guild who is gay and thinks they are dating, but Frasier calls it off.. |

| In this adaptation King Henry II keeps his wife, Eleanor (Glenn Close) locked away in the towers because of her frequent attempts to overthrow him. Working through her sons, she plots the king's demise and the rise of her second son, Richard (Andrew Howard), to the throne. The youngest son, John (Rafe Spall), an overweight buffoon and the only son holding his father's affection is the king's choice after the death of his first son, young Henry. But John is also overly eager for power and is willing to plot his father's demise with middle brother, Geoffrey (John Light) and the young king of France, Phillip (Jonathan Rhys Meyers). Geoffrey, of course sees his younger brother's weakness and sees that route as his path to power. |

A deep-sea adventure where after fleeing from a Confederate prison, five people on the run find what they believe to be an escape on a deserted Pacific island. But their sense of relief doesn't last long, as the island turns out to be infested with man-eating monsters of every possible horrific variety. Kyle MacLachlan stars as Cyrus and Gabrielle Anwar plays Jane. - Unlike the book, Captain Nemo is living in a large house on the Island with a servant and had Captain Nemo making firearms in this adaptation. |

This is a newer TV series which stars Patrick Stewart as a scientist who works for the Home Office. - Ian Hood is a government scientist and top man who really gets a good glimpse at what those with power and knowledge get up to behind our backs. Each week, an episode deals with a scenario (e.g. cloning, miracle cures, virus outbreaks) where he must battle against the odds to give the public the protection they deserve. |

He has to use a wheelchair, but more than adequately makes up for it with his powerful mind. The team fights enemies like Magneto and Deathstrike among many others including the government itself. The Professor is killed by The Phoenix (Jean Grey's evil side).
