Futurama is a futuristic comedy cartoon created by Matt Groening, the same creator as The Simpsons. Futurama takes place in the year 3000, after a pizza delivery boy named Fry, is cryogenically frozen for 1,000 years. In the future he befriends Turanga Leela, the Cyclops mutant, and Bender, a drinking, swearing and stealing bending robot.

  Space Pilot 3000 is the very first episode of Futurama where Fry is frozen and wakes up in the year 3,000. He meets Leonard Nimoy in the head library while trying to escape from Leela.

  In Where No Fan Has Gone Before Fry is put on trial for traveling to the forbidden planet of Omega 3 to retrieve all 79 episodes of Star Trek. Taking Leonard Nimoy with him, Fry discovers that the rest of the crew are under the watchful eye of Star Trek's biggest fan Melllvar, who is a childish energy creature. He later takes a job as a delivery boy, working for his distant relative Doctor Farnsworth. At Planet Express Fry also works with Dr. Zoidberg, a lobster being from another planet, Hermes Conrad, the Jamaican acting bearocrat, and Amy Wong, the Asian girl with rich parents.
