Captain Dylan Hunt (Kevin Sorbo) commands the sentient starship Andromeda Ascendent, representing the vast, utopian All-Systems Commonwealth. When the Nietzcheans betray the Commonwealth, he orders his crew to abandon ship and pilots the Andromeda into a black hole. When they are pulled out three hundred years later, he finds a universe in chaos, where the Commonwealth is a memory. Alone, with a living warship, and a motley crew, Captain Hunt struggles to re-establish the Commonwealth. In Cui Bono, Beka's uncle Sid returns as a candidate for the leadership of the Commonwealth, but when he falls victim to an assassination attempt it is his reluctant niece who is charged with solving the case. In The Pearls That Were His Eyes, Beka receives an urgent message from her Uncle Sid. The men on Andromeda attempt to sell what they don't need in order to buy new parts. When Beka finds Sid he goes by the name of Sam Proffit, and is running TransGalactic, one of the largest shipping companies in the galaxy. |

In this episode, a man reports that his son is being held for ransom; Sipowicz and Clark have a disagreement; a young woman is found murdered in the closet of her apartment; Clark's past with one of the women involved threatens his testimony in a trial.
